Just in case you need a reminder, ladies here's the top four necessities;
1. Sheath Dress
Appropriate for both formal and casual, depending on the design. Though, this year, designers are pushing the envelope on what fashion watchers through the ages call a sheath dress--by putting more patterns and cuts into a particular style of garment.
Michelle Obama sports them all the time, and wears them with such elegance it's all good.
2. Legging pant
So basically, people don't have to squeeze into those tight fitting jeans anymore, muffin tops can do down, and the leggings are in. Be careful though, make sure it's not skinny all over, balance is key kiddos.
Gucci absolutely rocked this design, and took it to the next step. The legging boot pant.
Excuse me? Complete genius.
3. 1940's skirt suit
A ladylike classic, inspired by the woman movement during the war. We go girls!
Ps. Michael Kors has an excellent looking black and white ensemble in this kind of style. Look it up, but remember, he fits bigger than usual sizes (if you're shopping online)
Remember; the whole point of the 1940's suit is to create a silhouette.
4. Biker jacket
There are many variations to make this kind of garment work. Light leather, dark leather, some designers even made a transparent rain-coat-esque look, with outer sequins. It's basically the shape we're going for. And the feel. Which was influenced by rock and roll, studded hard core boys. Let's roll some stones.
Ps. I have a feeling Rihanna started this kind of thing, right? Shoulder pads? Doesn't she start a lot of things? .
