favourite: ellie goulding

If Britain had a flavour, it would be Ellie Goulding. Ever since a friend in San Fran pointed her out to me, I've been beyond in love with her. Which is quite a compliment to Ellie; seeing as there are very few solo female artists I admire and constantly listen to.
Maybe there are...two?

Quirky lyrics and eclectic sound, the Hereford native released her debut single "Under the Sheets" in September 2009 on the 'Neongold' independent record label (she's currently signed with Polydor) and immediately received rave reviews due to the  enthusiastic ear offered; and gained heavy air play. Her next single, "Starry Eyed" is to be released Febuary 22nd. With her album Lights coming out March 1st. Definitely getting that--on top of her single release (on neongold) 7" record which is dual sided featuring "Under the Sheets" and "Fighter Plane" (Thankkk you little baby).

So she's great, but you like mixtures---collaborations. Ellie has managed to collaborate with Frankmusik (Wish I Stayed), Erik Hassle (Be Mine) and provided the vocals for Starsmith's Passion Pit remix (Sleepyhead). Starsmith has also helped produce a majority of her upcoming album.

So here's to Ellie Goulding.
